Oak Oak has several species but are basically broken into 2 mainly known categories ....Red oak and White oak. Red oak is the more commonly known in flooring and furniture but the white oak is more weather resistant and is used in barrel making due to it's non-porous features, white oak is also known for it's quarter-sawn characteristic rays that are beautiful in furniture.
